As of POS Version: 3.5.423  Normal Rounding is the default for Nickel Rounding in PDQPOS.

Below are some example scenarios you will see on your POS.

Example one:

Any change amount ending in .01, .02, .06 or .07  will round DOWN to the nearest nickel adding a non-revenue item to the check to meet the rounded order total. Below is an example of the Order Total being $11.61.

Optional rounding behavior can be enabled at your request:

Always Up Rounding is an optional method in PDQPOS.

  • Instead of the system rounding down if it’s .01 or .02, it’ll round everything up to the nearest .05 . Same thing with .06 and .07, it’ll round up to the nearest .10.

Always Down Rounding is another optional method in PDQPOS.

  • Instead of the system rounding up if it’s .03 or .04, it’ll round everything down to the nearest .00 . Same thing with .08 and .09, it’ll round down to the nearest .05.
